STEP UP GALLERY NEWS RELEASE

The current art exhibit in Step Up Gallery at Mesa Public Library celebrating the centennial of Route 66 closes at 8 p.m. Thursday.

“Ode to the Mother Road: Route 66 Centennial Art Exhibit” has drawn many visitors over the last month. Plein air paintings by well-known New Mexican artists, fabric quilts, and additional mixed media pieces, all designed to honor the Mother Road, fill the gallery walls.

Many works of art can be purchased during the show by contacting the artist directly.

The next exhibit in the gallery is the “Los Alamos County Fair and Rodeo Indoor Show” 3-8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 7, and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 8.

Step Up Gallery (https://stepupgallery.org) is on the top level of Mesa Public Library at 2400 Central Ave. The gallery is open the same hours as the library: 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday; 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday; 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 1-5 p.m. Sunday.
