One person has been transported by ambulance from the scene of an overturned dump truck at the bottom of East Jemez Road at Mile Marker 9. The overturned truck has caused a diesel spill and the Los Alamos National Lab Hazmat team is on the scene, according to Los Alamos Police Department Deputy Chief Oliver Morris.
The Truck Route is closed in both directions, however the western road block on East Jemez Road is just east of Elk Ridge Mobile Home Park to allow residents to enter and leave Elk Ridge, Deputy Chief Morris said.
In addition to LAPD, Santa Fe County Sheriff’s Office and Los Alamos Fire Department personnel are at the scene.
Drivers are requested to avoid the area. Notification of the reopening of the Truck Route will be published as soon as that information is made available.
