Teen Center: Four Spaces Remain In Three-Week Summer Youth Film Intensive In July

Four places remain in the Los Alamos Teen Center’s Summer Youth Film Intensive taking place July 5-7, 10-14, & 17-21 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the PAC 8 Media Center and the Teen Center. The class is open to youth ages 13-18 and limited to 12 students. Registrations will be processed in the order in which they are received.

This 3 week program will take participants through all of the steps in the process of creating an original short film– screen writing, camera operation, production planning and location shooting, acting for film, videography, and editing, and numerous other aspects of the film process. Students will write, produce, and star in multiple original short films for entry in a statewide youth film contest.

The program is a collaboration between the Teen Center, Youth Activity Center, Fuller Lodge Art Center, & PAC 8. It is being made possible by a generous donations and a grant from the Delle Foundation.

The cost to put on the program is over $1500/student.

Suggested family contribution: $700/student

Minimum family contribution: $350/student

Scholarships up to 100% are available, no student will be refused for financial reasons. In 2022, the class was an even mix of students paying full cost, students with partial scholarships, and students on full scholarships.
