Online Training Available For New Mexico History Museum Volunteer Docents For Santa Fe

Positions are now open for volunteers to be trained online by the New Mexico History Museum as docents for walking tours of historic downtown Santa Fe. Free introduction sessions are taking place on Zoom on Oct. at 3:00 PM and Oct. 29 at 11:00 AM.

Training is available to history buffs 21 years of age or older with good communication skills and who enjoys meeting new people and spending time outdoors, values helping others broaden their understanding and appreciation of differing perspectives on history and how it has shaped the state we love, and wants to make a difference. Museum-trained docents receive personal support, reference materials and access to historical resources. Two-hour walking tours are offered April 1-Nov 30 by reservation, and custom tours may sometimes be arranged.
