Mesa Public Library Presents ‘Stories From Northern New Mexico’ Live at Fuller Lodge In-Person July 28

MESA PUBLIC LIBRARY NEWS

Mesa Public Library invites the community from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, July 28 to an evening of centuries-old folk tales told with humor and affection by Paulette Atencio.

Atencio is an independent folklorist and author who delights audiences with cuentos (stories) learned growing up in Penasco, and a lifetime traveling northern and central New Mexico. She has been a professional bilingual storyteller for more than 20 years and is a registered Chautauqua speaker for the New Mexico Humanities Council. These centuries-old folktales impart wisdom passed down over hundreds of years, focusing on traditions of the Southwest and universal themes of humor and morality.

Books sales by Samizdat Bookstore and book signing by Paulette Atencio will follow the program. Click here for more information: https://loom.ly/1uOkNa0. Courtesy LAC
