Zia Credit Union invites the community to take part in an indoor putting green contest being held at its Los Alamos and Santa Fe branches from now through Aug. 19. A completed hole-in-one earns participants a prize, including blankets, Bluetooth speakers, wine tumblers and more.
It only costs a $5 donation for a chance to win, with all proceeds going to support the UNM Children’s Hospital and scholarships for northern New Mexico students through the Zia Education Foundation. The hole-in-one challenge is an extension of the annual “Chip In 4 Kids” Golf Tournament, held this year at the Los Alamos Golf Course on August 19.
“It’s truly an honor to help support not only the education of our young adult members, but also the health of our local children,” said Zia Marketing & Business Development Manager Laura Loy. “We had great success last year raising over $23,000 to help our community, and this year we know we can reach over $30,000 with our community’s help!”
UNM Children’s Hospital helps nearly 40,000 children receive comprehensive health care each year. Meanwhile, the Zia Education Foundation has awarded more than $390,000 in merit scholarships since its inception.
“We set a high goal this year because we know we can reach it, and it’s easy to see the great impact each dollar makes in the lives of local youth,” Loy said. “We know our new members and local residents will be excited to help in such a fun way, to win prizes while supporting children’s health and education.”
Members of the community are invited in to participate in the hole-in-one challenge will through August 19. The Los Alamos branch is located at 1001 Central Avenue in Los Alamos, and the Santa Fe is located at 111 N. St. Francis Drive in Santa Fe. Both branches are open daily on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Tuesdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Fridays 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. For more information, visit ziacu.org.
