NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE ALBUQUERQUE NEWS
A crazy day of rain, snow, strong to damaging winds, and yes, even smoke, is in store. The back door front is already sliding southward across the plains this morning, and will push through the gaps of the central mountain chain by mid day. Gusts between 50 and 60 mph are possible behind the front. Much colder air will also filter in, with the first freeze possible for some locales tonight. Snow is likely across the northern mountains tonight through Wednesday, though it is not likely to stick around long due to warm ground temperatures. The rest of us should get some much needed rain over the next few days! And hopefully, this precipitation will help with the smoke across the state.
