In response to questions from the community, the Los Alamos Reporter reached out to Los Alamos National Laboratory spokesman Stephen Horak Tuesday for information on temporary road closures experienced Saturday in the vicinity of LANL

Horak said that on Saturday morning, a private vehicle bypassed a Vehicle Access Portal at the Laboratory. During the investigation of that incident, a security concern was reported, and out of an abundance of caution protective actions were issued and part of the affected roadway was closed.

“Appropriate security measures were activated and the situation was resolved without incident. Normal Laboratory operations resumed,” Horak said.
