Los Alamos Arts Council Presents 2nd Annual Pajarito Literary Festival Oct. 3 And 4

LAAC NEWS RELEASE

The Los Alamos Arts Council along with our key sponsor, Century Bank Los Alamos, and our partners at Samizdat Bookstore & Teahouse are pleased to bring the 2nd Annual Pajarito Literary Festival to Los Alamos Oct. 3 and 4..

Featuring over 25 artists from across the nation, this literary event will take place October 2nd-4th at various locations in Los Alamos.

The inaugural Literary Festival was possible in 2025 thanks to a grant from the New Mexico Creative Industries Division last May. This year, moving the festival into the opening weekend of the National Month of Arts and Humanities highlights the importance of the literary arts as part of the creative connections we all share.

Executive Director, Brandi Engeman, says this about bringing the Lit Fest back for a second year, “The stories we tell are what make us humans. Having the time to sit with those who build and share stories, whether oral or written, is important in a world that is filled with pressure to outsource this very human process. It only makes sense to kick of the Month of Arts in Humanities with a storytelling event.”

Century Bank Los Alamos was eager to step in and support this year’s festival as well. As a sponsor of both Kite Festival and the Literary Festival, Century Bank affirms their commitment to  being part of the community they live and work in. The festival this year would not be possible without their sponsorship and the support of the LAAC’s other community partners.

Passes for the weekend are available online and feature VIP or general admission tickets with special pricing for Los Alamos Arts Council annual and business members. VIP passes include early and exclusive access to the calendar of events to RSVP to special events such as small group discussions and tea at Samizdat Bookstore, nature walks at PEEC, RSVP access to panels and a variety of workshops. General admission passes give access to all the panels and book signing sessions throughout the weekend on a first come, first served basis.

Panels and workshops will take place at the Fuller Lodge, Fuller Lodge Art Center gallery and classrooms, SALA Event Center, Samizdat Bookstore & Teahouse and other locations in downtown Los Alamos.

The 2nd Annual Pajarito Literary Festival is possible thanks to the generous sponsorship of Century Bank in Los Alamos. We are grateful to the additional support of our annual members at Medical Associates of Northern New Mexico, our partners at Samizdat Bookstore & Teahouse, Los Alamos MainStreet and Creative District, Janet Lovato at Exit Realty, private donors and the loving local community who steps up with their time, donations, and moral support to keep the arts thriving in Los Alamos and our neighboring communities.
