Y Expanded Holistic Series Returns Sept. 13 with New Wellness, Movement And Education Offerings

The Los Alamos Family YMCA is excited to announce the return of its Holistic Series, an expanded wellness experience beginning Sunday, Sept. 13. The upcoming series brings together a diverse lineup of movement, recovery, education, and wellness practices designed to support participants in building strength, improving body awareness, managing stress, and enhancing overall well-being.

This year’s expanded series will feature Breathwork, Pelvic Floor, Sound Bath, Nutrition, the Feldenkrais Method, Mindful Movement, and a personal training workshop focused on lifting fundamentals.

Participants will have the opportunity to explore:

  • Breathwork: Intentional breathing practices designed to encourage relaxation, body awareness, and nervous system regulation.
  • Pelvic Floor: An educational and movement-based session focused on developing awareness and understanding of the pelvic floor while learning strategies to support strength and healthy movement.
  • Sound Bath: A restorative experience using sound and vibration to encourage relaxation, mindfulness, and a deeper sense of calm.
  • Nutrition: Practical education and strategies for fueling the body, supporting fitness goals, and developing sustainable nutrition habits.
  • Feldenkrais Method: A gentle, mindful movement practice that develops greater awareness of how the body moves. Through guided exploration, participants can 
    • discover more comfortable and efficient movement patterns and expand their options for moving with greater ease.Mindful Movement: A yoga session designed to increase focus and concentration, develop strength, mobility, and balance, and support nervous system regulation. The workshop combines basic breathwork (pranayama), meditation, and foundational yoga postures through guided instruction. No prior yoga experience is required. Level Up Your Lift: Form, Posture & Lifting Fundamentals: This physical therapy-focused workshop is designed specifically for group class regulars and those looking to learn lifting fundamentals and gain confidence. Participants will learn how to refine lifting technique, improve posture, and develop solid foundational mechanics. The session will focus on maximizing each rep, reducing the risk of common workout injuries, and building confidence to lift heavier, move faster, and get better results in group classes or individual workouts.

    The expanded Holistic Series reflects the YMCA’s commitment to supporting the whole person—not simply through exercise, but through education, mindful movement, recovery, and practices that promote long-term health and well-being.

    Non-Members: $50 Space is limited, and advance registration is encouraged. Registration is available in person at the Los Alamos Family YMCA Main Y front desk during the following hours:
