The Los Alamos Police Department is reminding community members that it will host a town hall this Thursday August 27, 2026, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. to provide information about the Department’s Automated License Plate Reader (ALPR) system and
answer questions from the community.
The town hall will provide an opportunity for residents to learn how ALPR technology is used by the Los Alamos Police Department, what information is collected, how the data is protected, who can access it, and the policies and safeguards governing its use.
Department personnel will be available to provide a demonstration of the system and answer questions directly from community members. The Department encourages anyone with questions or concerns about ALPR technology to attend.
