| The Santa Fe National Forest and Carson National Forest advise the public of increased heavy equipment activity near Truchas in the La Jara Canyon area as firefighters develop contingency suppression plans for the Frijoles Fire. Although the fire is not currently impacting this area, crews are proactively improving access and establishing potential containment lines. Heavy equipment and personnel will be working on and around the following roads on the Carson National Forest:Forest Service Road 667Forest Service Road 639Forest Service Roads 639T1, 639T2, and 639T3Forest Service Road 155 (near the 714 intersection)Incident personnel will provide traffic control to ensure public and firefighter safety. Visitors should expect traffic delays and are encouraged to use alternate routes to avoid wait times. The temporary closure for the Frijoles Fire on the Santa Fe National Forest remains in effect.
