Saddle up and mark your calendars: the Los Alamos County Fair & Rodeo returns this weekend, August 7-9, 2026, with “Rodeo Nights” commemorating a night rodeo on Saturday, August 8.
This year will showcase fairs on both sides of Central Ave. on Saturday, August 8. The County Fair and Farmers’ Market with information booths, local produce, hand-crafted goods, and artisanal creations will be at Ashley Pond Park. Across the street at Fuller Lodge is the vibrant Los Alamos Arts Council Arts & Crafts Fair.
Parade Grand Marshal: Lady Liberty
To further honor the 250th celebration of the United States, Lady Liberty is our Grand Marshal for 2026. She is an icon, a national treasure, and one of the most recognizable figures in the world. She is a symbol of freedom, inspiration, and hope. The Statue of Liberty, her full name, “The Statue of Liberty Enlightening the World,” is a colossal neoclassical sculpture of a robed and crowned woman on Liberty Island, located in New York City Harbor.

Friday, August 7
- County Fair Exhibits: 3:00–8:00 p.m. at Mesa Public Library
- Summer Concert Series featuring Hooks and Huckleberries: 6:30–9:30 p.m. at Ashley Pond Park
Saturday, August 8
- County Fair Parade: 10:00 a.m. on Central Ave.
- Festival & Fairs: 9:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m. at Ashley Pond Park
- Discover local food and crafts at the Farmers’ Market!
- Stroll through the Los Alamos Arts Council Arts and Crafts Fair
- Pie Baking Contest: 11:30 a.m. entry / Noon judging at Ashley Pond Park
- County Night Rodeo & Watermelon Eating Contest: 6:00–10:00 p.m. at Brewer Arena
- Be sure to meet the 2026 Royalty Court
- Cowboy Dinner & Dance: 5:00–7:00 p.m. (Dinner), 7:00–9:00 p.m. (Dance) at the Los Alamos Sheriff’s Posse Lodge
- Prime rib dinner is $30 per person
- Hot dog meal is $5 per person
Sunday, August 9
- Stroll the Stables: 9:00 a.m.–Noon at North Mesa Stables
- Meet farm animals and enjoy a piece of rural life!
- Day 2 of the Rodeo: Tough Enough to Wear Pink: 1:00–6:00 p.m. at Brewer Arena
Access and parking for the parade and fairs
Central Avenue will be closed from 15th to Oppenheimer from 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., and will extend from the roundabout to Oppenheimer beginning at 9:00 a.m. for the duration of the parade. Parking can be found around the event at various County lots: Municipal Building, Justice Center (via Oppenheimer), and Betty Ehart and the auxiliary library parking lot (via Bathtub Row). Also be mindful that construction is happening along Trinity Drive.
Rodeo admission prices
While many of the event activities are free, rodeo events do require admission; cash and credit cards are accepted:
- Ages 2 & under: Free
- Youth (3–17) & Seniors (60+): $5
- Adults (18–59): $10
- Family of 4: $25
