Former Los Alamos High School principal Eric Ziegler filed a lawsuit yesterday (July 31) in the U.S. District Court of New Mexico against the Los Alamos Public Schools Board and Supt. Jennifer Guy related to Mr. Ziegler’s “recent separation of employment”. The 27-page complaint, submitted by attorney Trent Howell of Santa Fe, is under the American with Disabilities Act of 1990, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, New Mexico Human Rights Act, and the New Mexico Whistleblower Protection Act.

On April 27, Howell filed a lawsuit on behalf of Ziegler’s wife, Devin Ziegler against LAPS, the School Board, Kayoka Nettleton, Maya Cameron and Karla Crane. See https://losalamosreporter.com/2026/05/04/former-employee-files-54-page-lawsuit-against-los-alamos-public-schools/

The latest lawsuit claims that LAPS discriminated and retaliated against Eric Ziegler after his wife Devin filed her lawsuit, and that LAPS “knowingly, willfully, and without good-faith basis or belief of legality subjected Eric to harassment, retaliation, unfavorable reassignment/demotion, termination (as Principal), and/or discharged him from employment.
