County’s Performance Metrics Dashboard Refreshed And Relaunched

COUNTY NEWS RELEASE

In a continued effort to enhance transparency, Los Alamos County has relaunched the performance metrics dashboard, now accessible on its website losalamosnm.gov. This follows a refresh to improve viewability and clarity, as well as update the dashboard with the Los Alamos County Council’s 2026 Strategic Leadership Plan focus areas. The dashboard is a hub of information that allows users to see behind the scenes of ongoing County efforts.

Informed by input from the bi-annual 2024 National Community Survey (NCS), the Strategic Leadership Plan sets the County Council’s visions for moving the County forward. The plan is reviewed annually to make sure the major focus areas are still current, as are the objectives found under each focus area. The Council adopted five focus areas and 22 objectives for 2026. The five focus areas include: Quality Governance, Operational Excellence, Economic Vitality, Quality of Life, and Environmental Stewardship. The objectives in each focus area address issues important to the community and the governance of essential functions. They are tools to help maintain a focus on important and challenging issues but are not all-inclusive of the broad scope of the County’s work and investments.

Concrete actions for addressing each of the 22 objectives are identified on the performance metrics dashboard for making and communicating progress and identifying challenges throughout the year.

The community is encouraged to review the newly refreshed dashboard and to participate in the upcoming bi-annual 2026 National Community Survey, coming this fall.
