County Government Offices To Close May 25 In Observance Of Memorial Day

COUNTY NEWS RELEASE

In observance of Memorial Day, some Los Alamos County government offices and services will close or have modified hours on Monday, May 25, 2026. 

The County’s administrative offices, Atomic City Transit fixed bus routes, and the Environmental Services division are closed on Monday. In addition, the following facilities will close or have modified hours:

  • Camp May Road – Open for the month of May – No construction activity.
  • White Rock and Mesa libraries  – Open 1 to 5 p.m.
  • Aquatic Center – Leisure Lagoon open from 1 to 4 p.m., main pool and therapy pool closed.
  • Los Alamos County Ice Rink – Closed
  • Golf Course and Golf Shop – Open from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.
  • Utilities will be closed for regular business, however crews are on-call for emergencies 24/7 by calling 505-662-8222.
  • Environmental Services commercial/residential refuse/recycle services will resume on Tuesday, May 26. If the observed date falls on your normal trash day, place your materials out on Wednesday, May 27.
  • Atomic City Transit – No fixed bus routes or Dial-a-Ride service will be available. Regular services will resume Tuesday, May 26. Bandelier Shuttle service will continue to operate within the park during the holiday.
