Los Alamos County staff are excited for the upcoming opening of Pinon Park Pool on Saturday, May 23, 2026, and would like to share a more detailed schedule for the facility during the 2026 summer season.
- Monday – Friday, 7:00am – 7:00pm
- 7:00am – 9:00am Lap swim, 6 lanes
- 9:00am – 12:00pm Lap swim 6 lanes
- 2 lanes are reserved for swim teams Monday – Thursday
- 12:00pm – 6:00pm Open recreation swim
- 6:00pm – 7:00pm Lap swim, 6 lanes
- Saturday, 9:00am – 5:00pm Open recreation swim and 505 swim lessons
There will be no swim teams on Fridays, and no lap swimming on Saturdays.
Piñon Park Pool will be open on Memorial Day, Monday, May 25, 2026, from 1:00pm – 5:00pm.
Piñon Park Pool is open to the public, and Los Alamos County Aquatic Center pass holders can also utilize the facility.
Due to lifeguard staffing shortages, the Leisure Lagoon will be closed on Saturdays and federally observed holidays in order to fully staff Piñon Park Pool, which does provide the public with an additional five hours of access to the water.
The Leisure Lagoon remains open with the following hours and schedule:
- Monday, Wednesday, Friday
- 9:00am – 11:00am Fitness Classes
- 11:00am – 7:00pm General Public and Swim Lessons
- Tuesday and Thursday
- 9:00am – 7:00pm General Public and Swim Lessons

Lifeguard staffing is critical to ensure the safety of our patrons and increase operating hours. If you know of someone looking for a part-time or full-time job, please think about us. Our staff will fully train individuals to be certified lifeguards or recertify those who need recertification.
