BY DAVID REAGOR
Bill Enloe recently wrote an article defending the county government, their small business policies, and saying that criticism of them is misguided. I will talk about how he is definitively wrong. I have many examples of county abusive policies that should end immediately:
– Unquarked
– Pet Pangea
– LANet
– All of downtown White Rock
Plus, other businesses that left town to avoid our county government.
During this meeting we will discuss the attacks on our small business community and the changes that are necessary to turn this system around.
The treatment of small businesses is a small part of the modern general mistreatment of the middle class at all levels of government. Our governments mostly polarize the public, paralyze government from solving real problems, and all work together to transfer wealth from the middle class to the upper class. Left alone, the people who are supposed to serve the public will just serve the wealthy. We need to work together to overcome this natural trend and maintain an affordable town with a viable services community.
All members of the public are welcome to attend this meeting on May 20 at 6 pm in the student center at UNM-LA. Several vandidates will also be present to answer questions and discuss their campaigns.
