County Creates First Green Bike Lane On Diamond Drive Near Sullivan Field

LOS ALAMOS COUNTY NEWS RELEASE

Los Alamos County’s first green bike lane was installed Thursday along Diamond Drive near Sullivan Field. Green bike lanes highlight areas where bikes and vehicles might cross paths. The bright green increases visibility of cyclists and alerts everyone to keep a look out.

The County is field-testing this approach and materials to see if it can be applied in more areas and be durable enough to withstand seasonal changes.

Thanks to our hard-working Public Works Traffic Crew for installing the green lane and for everyone traveling safely through the construction zone. The crew will be out again today installing a second lane at the Diamond Drive and Canyon Road intersection.

Preparing for a lovely Bicycle Safety Month and Bike-to-Work Day in May. Small shifts. Big impact.
