It’s hard to believe that the Los Alamos Reporter is seven years old, although sometimes, close to midnight it seems like it is much older. After some 21,100 posts, 15 .3 million views and 4.1 million visitors, I am celebrating my readers and supporters, and proud of my accomplishments, particularly as a one-person operation.
My greatest joy is when I run into readers at events both in my community and throughout the region who voice their appreciation of my work. One might think the hardest part is trying to keep up with all the issues, events, news releases, announcements, etc. that I publish. Handling all that generates a “good kind of tired”, if that makes sense. but what is really exhausting is how hard it is so hard to get information I request for stories I want to write. You might be surprised at why that is so difficult and who is involved. (More to come on that soon.)
In the near future I will be adding a “donate button” to the Reporter website. In the past seven years, I haven’t accepted funds from anyone but with the encouragement of supporters and friends, I have decided to give readers the option to make donations as they see fit. Needless to say, all access to the Reporter will continue at no cost, and my page will remain independent and ad-free.
Thank you for your support.
