NMC NEWS RELEASE
The New Mexico Consortium (NMC) is excited to be hosting Cosmic Frontiers 2025: Planets, May 3-4 at the SALA Los Alamos Event Center. Cosmic Frontiers will bring together top planetary scientists and astronomers for groundbreaking discussions. Three scientific sessions will feature the topics: Our Solar System, Exoplanets, and Methodology to Study Planets. In addition to the main scientific sessions at the SALA Events Center, there will be a variety of other free public events throughout the weekend that will allow the local community to get involved and explore the wonders of space.
“We’re excited to not only bring the main Cosmic Frontiers Event to Los Alamos, but also to invite the public to the other free, fun, and educational offerings hosted by Los Alamos community organizations and businesses,” said John Engen, CEO of the New Mexico Consortium. “These activities have been created with all ages in mind and should offer everyone a chance to experience the wonders of the Universe.”

Challenge Tomorrow Trailer. This interactive, state-of-the-art trailer from Los Alamos National Laboratory brings science and technology to life! SALA Parking Lot.
Bradbury Science Museum is open; visit and see their newest displays! 1450 Central Ave.
Planet-Themed Art Show: Local school children’s space-inspired artwork will be on display at the Mesa Public Library.

Cosmic Frontiers Merchandise: T-shirts designed by BeeHaus Design will be available for sale in the SALA lobby. Take home a piece of the event!

Planet-Themed Book Sale: Samizdat Bookstore will host a book sale featuring space- and science-themed titles in the SALA lobby.

Film: The Hunt for Planet B, captures the human drama behind NASA’s high-stakes Webb Telescope. Admission to the film is free to the public, SALA Event Center.
8:30pm
Stargazing Event hosted by the Pajarito Astronomers. Attendees will have the opportunity to observe the night sky through telescopes, guided by local astronomy experts. In the event of bad weather, there will be a planetarium show indoors. Location: Pajarito Environmental Education Center (PEEC).
