SALA Los Alamos Event Center is thrilled to announce an exciting lineup of films, community events, and special activities for this week. Here’s what’s happening:

New Reels

Fly Me to the Moon continues to captivate audiences at SALA with multiple showtimes:

  • 1 P.M. (Closed Captioned) on Thursday through Saturday
  • 7 P.M. on Thursday and Friday
  • 2 P.M. on Sunday (Closed Captioned)

Despicable Me 4 also continues to delight viewers:

  • 1 P.M. and 6 P.M. on Thursday through Saturday
  • 2 P.M. on Sunday

Community Events

As part of the Science Fest, we are proud to present:

  • Very Large Array Radio Telescope – Monday at 6 P.M.

Join us for the LAFC Summer Film Fundraiser, featuring the beloved film Howl’s Moving Castle:

  • Tuesday at 5:30 P.M.

The Los Alamos Faith and Science Forum will host an engaging discussion:

  • Tuesday at 6 P.M.

Explore the Geology of Northern New Mexico with an insightful presentation:

  • Thursday at 6 P.M.

Get ready for a rock concert like no other with Baggage Claim:

  • Saturday at 6:30 P.M. (Doors open at 6:30 P.M.) Baggage Claim is a family band from Los Alamos making their debut performance. The band, consisting of the Peterson family, will play rock hits from the 80s to today. Band members include:
    • Sean, 18, a biochemistry student at Penn State University on guitar, vocals, and drums
    • Liam, 13, a student at LAMS on bass and keyboard
    • Emilie, 10, a student at Mountain Elementary on lead vocals
    • Jacob, 9, on drums
    • Olivia, 7, on tambourine
    • Lisa, a cosmetology student on vocals
    • Paul, a scientist at LANL playing drums, guitar, bass, keyboard, and vocals
