SYZYGY NEWS RELEASE
The members of Syzygy, a Los Alamos band, invite the community to join them and guest performers including members of the band Heather and the Bad Breaks, the Atomic Follies Cabaret and other guest musicians for a night of music and dancing at the Los Alamos Sheriff’s Posse Lodge on Saturday, April 13, beginning at 7 p.m. The event is open to all ages.
This performance is to raise money for Heather McCulloch, a long term Los Alamos resident known to many for her work as a counselor, a performer with both the Los Alamos Light Opera and Los Alamos Little Theater and as a director and performer with the Atomic Follies Cabaret. Due to cancer and subsequent complications requiring 5 surgeries to date, McCulloch is facing a heavy burden of high medical bills and a significant loss of income due to taking time off to recuperate.
When Syzygy band members Nick Denissen, Michelangelo Lobato, Kile Uhlenbrock and Dave Hemsing heard about what was happening, they came up with the idea of a benefit concert to help raise money for their good friend. Denissen emphasized that, “Heather has always been the first person to reach out to someone in need. We are thrilled to be able to do something to help her out”.
Along with music and dancing, Heather Beemer will be provide henna art on a first come basis. All proceeds will be donated to Heather McCulloch.
Light snacks and soda will be available for a donation. Alcohol will not be sold but guests aged 21+ are invited to BYOB as the consumption of personal drinks is allowed.
There is a suggested donation of $10 for this event by cash or Venmo. All proceeds will go directly to Heather McCulloch.
