Los Alamos Middle School Team Takes First Place In National Science Bowl Regional Competition For Fifth Year

Los Alamos Middle School Science Bowl team members Amelia Dolejsi, Aven Heavner, Rafa Rocha, Julia Zou and Kevin Zou continued the schools’ winning tradition by taking first place in the regional competition for the 2024 National Science Bowl® (NSB) held recently at Albuquerque Academy. This is the 5th year in a row that LAMS has won the regional
competition. They will be headed to Washington DC in April for the national competition

LAMS sent three teams to the competition. All three teams advanced to the afternoon “Double
Elimination” rounds.

“My ‘Team 1’ was the winning team and was undefeated throughout the day’s matches,” said Science Bowl Coach Amy Bartlett-Gaunt. “I am so proud of everyone’s accomplishments in this competition. They are amazing!”

LAMS Team 2 members are Eric Brown, Leah Herrera, Julia Neale, Lucia Rudin and Maia
Warren. Team 3 members are Haley Bishofberger, Cameron Davis, Michelle Lo, Sean Lo and
Emily Lueninghoener.
