Ten Los Alamos High School seniors have been named National Merit finalists. They join more than 15,000 other finalists now eligible to receive National Merit scholarships.
The finalists are John Cawkwell, Rosario Dodd, Minhtet Htoon, Finley Inglis, Andres Iturregui, Lucy Kelley, Shiv Antar Khalsa, Daniel Kim, Jinheon Kim and Rebecca Li.
About 7,140 National Merit Scholarships of three types will be offered in 2024:
- 2,500 single-payment National Merit® $2500 Scholarships for which all Finalists will be considered;
- about 840 corporate-sponsored Merit Scholarship awards for which Finalists who meet a company or business grantor’s specified criteria will be considered; and
- some 3,800 college-sponsored Merit Scholarship awards for which only Finalists who will attend their respective sponsor institutions are considered.
Winners will be notified beginning in March.
