LAFC NEWS RELEASE
Los Alamos Family Council is excited to announce the return of a historic fundraiser, our Cookie Walk.
For many years, the Cookie Walk was held at Fuller Lodge during Winter Fest. We are so excited to see it return in its new format. The Cookie Walk will remain in conjunction with Winter Fest but will have a more accessible format.
Rather than a live, one-day event, the Cookie Walk will be a three-week window in which individuals and businesses can order cookies made by staff and volunteers. The online ordering portal will open today. Those interested in purchasing cookies can view the available cookies for each of the three weeks and make their desired purchases.
Cookie availability varies across the three weeks to offer a wider variety to those interested in supporting our work, and to help our volunteers offer their time accordingly.
“I am very excited to see the cookies being offered this year,” said Los Alamos Family Council Executive Director Jordan Redmond. “Our volunteers have brought by samples of their baked delights so we can photograph them for the online catalog. And sampling the cookies afterwards was quite the treat! I don’t want to be biased, but I’m looking forward to my mom’s buckeyes the most! A staff favorite are the vegan pumpkin chocolate chip cookies.”
All proceeds of the Cookie Walk go towards our Financial Hardship Fund – our ongoing campaign to provide financial assistance to clients who struggle to make their payments and copayments in receiving services at the Counseling Center.
All orders can be made online, using this link.
