‘Edna’ Is Not A Goose, But A Gander

LAPS NEWS RELEASE

Los Alamos County Animal Control has received multiple calls and concerns regarding “Edna”, the goose at Ashley Pond displaying abnormal behavior and being fed a poor diet. The goose has been picked up by animal control and placed in safe keeping for an assessment.

Veterinarian Dr. Kathleen Ramsey came to visit “Edna” and concluded that she is in fact an “Ed”. We are working on finding a proper mate for Ed to help assure the age, gender and temperament will be accepted by “Ed”. He is in overall good health and will return to Ashley Pond soon if a mate can be found. If not he will be sent to a sanctuary or rescue.

Please remember his diet is very important to his overall health and many things are toxic or unhealthy for him to consume. Bread, popcorn, and French fries should not be fed to “Ed” or the other animals at the pond. Please contact Los Alamos Animal Control at (505) 662-8179 if you have a mate for “Ed” so it can be assessed by Dr. Ramsey prior to placement.
