Mission Possible is one of the missions that the United Church of Los Alamos has supported since the 1980s. Mission Possible is a Christian mission devoted to bringing the Gospel, food, health care, and hope to people in Eastern Europe. Mission Possible has been especially busy in Ukraine since the start of the Russian invasion. Mission Possible urgently needs additional funds to continue this work as the destruction by the Russian invasion continues. Mission Possible’s website, at www.mp.org has more information about their work and current needs.

A recent message from Addie Murphy, the U.S. coordinator for Mission Possible, shared some thoughts from a Mission Possible team member in Ukraine.

“We are in good spirits. We pray for every trip to local villages and we feel your prayers for us. There have been many rocket attacks in the Odesa region. There are also many miracles of God’s protection. Rockets have fallen near villages where we work, mainly outside them. One rocket almost hit the building where we work with children, but there was a high tree, and the rocket hit it first, changed course, and fell aside. In another village where there is a church we partner with, a rocket hit a home. Thankfully none of the family was there at that time.

“Our team is still producing food and hygiene boxes but also spending more time in the villages with people. We now visit four villages weekly to conduct children’s Bible clubs with prayer, games, Bible teaching, a teaching session with a story for children who have suffered from traumas, and a meal. It lasts two hours. There are 150 children in a week. These are villages where we have worked before.

“Please continue praying for our workers, the people we serve, and peace in Eastern Europe.”
