Los Alamos Public Schools Board Seeks Public Input On Three Voting Redistricting Options

LAPS NEWS RELEASE

Parents of Los Alamos Public Schools (LAPS) students and members of the community are invited to share their comments and/or questions regarding three School Board voting redistricting options being considered by the Board.

School board members narrowed the options down to three – Plan A, Plan B or Plan D — during a recent board meeting. Each of these options include at least one elementary school site in each proposed district. These zones are not school attendance zones and do not affect where a student attends elementary school.

Redistricting for School Board voting zones is done every 10 years, as required by law

Research & Polling Inc. Vice President Michael Sharp is providing guidance to the School Board in this redistricting process. His presentation to the board may be viewed here

School Board members will be available to answer questions at the upcoming school site open houses.
