Kiwanis Club
Christina Nisoli, who was chosen to receive the Kiwanis “Stephen Stoddard Scholarship” this year, spoke to the club on August 2, recalling her past service while attending Los Alamos High School and outlining her plans for the future.
Nisoli started out in Key Club her freshman year and remained active in the organization until she graduated, culminating with serving as Key Club Southwest Lieutenant Governor her senior year. In addition, she served as a “district attorney” for the Teen Court in Los Alamos.
She described the hardships and challenges of attending high school during the pandemic and credited Key Club and community service for helping her cope during an otherwise lonely and depressing time.
She is now preparing for her freshman year at the University of New Mexico. She said she has already signed up for all her classes, and if she meets the necessary requirements, in three years hopes to become a nurse.
