Los Alamos Police and Fire Departments are responding to multiple calls in the community related to a heavy storm system moving through the area.

LAPD Deputy Chief Oliver Morris has asked that people only call 911/dispatch with emergencies .LAFD is responding to lightning strikes.

The County’s Code Red system was activated and the community has been asked, where possible, not to travel.
