A group of Los Alamos moms have set up a local drop off to assist The Food Depot In Santa Fe help those affected by fires.
Members of the public who want to help can bring a box of packaged snacks, water, Gatorade, bathroom products. baby wipes, Chapstick, eyedrops, Q-tips, socks, sunblock, pet food or a check made out to the ‘Food Depot’ to the Ashley Pond parking lot, 4-6 p.m. Wednesday May 4. Look for the Trucks on the side.
Amy Storey, who runs the “Friends of the Los Alamos Firefighters” page on FB, said that her neighbors have been wanting to offer help as fire season in underway again.
The Food Depot sent out an email that included its needs and Los Alamos residents Karyl Ann Armbruster and Andrea Determan agreed to organize a drop off event as soon as possible. Friends have offered trucks for loading the items, and they hope to fill them up and get everything to The Food Depot this week.
If needed, they plan to schedule another event like this soon.
