The Los Alamos County Environmental Services calendar shows that Yard Trimming roll cart curbside collection service begins again this week. Using a yard trimming roll cart is voluntary and there is no additional cost to residents.
Items that may be placed in the yard trimming cart are:
- branches (not to exceed 36” length and 4” diameter),
- grass clippings
- pine needles and pinecones.
Not acceptable are:
- plastic bags
- animal waste
- treated wood and lumber
- railroad tiles
- construction debris
- tree stumps
- concrete, dirt, and rocks.
If you have questions regarding acceptable material, please call the Environmental Services
at 505-662-8163 or email SolidWaste@lacnm.us .
According to the Environmental Services Department, use of the yard trimming carts gives County residents the opportunity to divert 14 percent of the waste stream or more than 1000 tons annually.
