The Los Alamos Public Schools Board has scheduled a special meeting at 5:30 p.m., Monday, Feb. 21 to make an official decision on whether or not to continue to mandate COVID-19 masks in the district.
In a surprise action at the end of the legislative session Thursday afternoon, Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham announced that she was lifting the indoor mask mandate statewide, leaving it up to individual school districts to make their own decisions on what to do. In order for the LAPS board to make a public decision, the issue has to be discussed and voted on at a public meeting which has been announced and posted for Monday. The mask decision is the only item on the agenda.
