Temporary lane closures of approximately 20 minutes are scheduled at six locations in the Los Alamos townsite for Saturday, Jan. 8. Staff with Los Alamos County Information Management Division will be rotating from Camino Entrada, Trinity Drive, 15th Street and Diamond Drive to perform routine inspections of fiber optics infrastructure located in vaults within the roadway.
Between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Saturday, motorists can expect brief lane closures around the inspection crews as follows:
- One location at Camino Entrada just north of Entrada Drive. (roadway to the Holiday Inn Express, New Mexico Consortium and the Los Alamos Co-Op Market). Crews will close the southbound lane with a flagging operation to maintain two-way traffic.
- Three locations on Trinity Drive affecting westbound traffic. Crews will drop the lane adjacent to the sidewalk just east of the Trinity/Knecht Street intersection. Subsequently, crews will move to the center lane between Knecht Street and 15th Street and return to the lane adjacent to the sidewalk, west of the Trinity/15th Street intersection. A vehicle and traffic control devices will be erected to move traffic around the inspection site.
- One location on 15 Street affecting southbound traffic. Crews will be in the center lane between Central Avenue and Trinity Drive. A vehicle and traffic control devices will be erected to move traffic around the inspection site.
- One location at Diamond Drive north of North Road affecting northbound traffic. Crews will drop the center lane with a vehicle and traffic control devices to move traffic around the inspection site.
