Chair
Los Alamos County Transportation Board
Since the Reporter did such an outstanding job reporting our December meeting, there’s nothing useful for me to add. However, I would like to mention some public meetings expected early next year. The sooner we all know something is in the air, the better!
33rd/34th Street Loop Roadway & Utility Work
This will be full roadway reconstruction of 34th Street North of Villa Street, and 33rd Street from 34th Street to several hundred feet south of Villa Street. A public input meeting will be scheduled as part of a regular monthly Transportation Board meeting in early 2022. Construction is anticipated to commence in the Spring 2022.
Canyon Road Reconstruction
This is nothing less than full roadway reconstruction from 39th Street to Central Avenue, and pavement rehabilitation for a small length of Central Avenue. A public input meeting will be scheduled as part of a regular monthly Transportation Board meeting in early 2022.
Cumbres del Norte Road Improvements
Full reconstruction of Camino Redondo, Camino Medio and Cumbres Patio. A public input meeting will be scheduled as part of a regular monthly Transportation Board meeting in early 2022.
Deacon Street Design
There is no scheduled Transportation Board meeting, but various business interests are starting a design discussion with the Economic Development Administrator. The focus to this point has been utility and infrastructure issues.
