Kiwanis: Santa Claus Is Coming To Town

KIWANIS CLUB NEWS RELEASE

The Kiwanis Club of Los Alamos is delighted to welcome back jolly St. Nick as he returns to Winterfest on Saturday, Dec. 4. Santa will be visiting with the good boys and girls of our community from 8 a.m. to noon at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish Hall, 3700 Canyon Road, Los Alamos.

Thanks to the support of Del Norte Credit Union, there is no cost to visit with Santa, but families are asked to reserve a timeslot at https://losalamos.kiwanisone.org/santa. Moms, dads and grandparents will want to be sure to bring their cameras (or phones) to preserve the memories of this COVID-safe visit.

The Kiwanis Club will be collecting non-perishable food donations for LA Cares and accepting monetary donations for the programs and projects of their club. See’s Candy will also be available for purchase. For the safety and health of Santa and all visitors, this year’s Visit with Santa will look and feel differently than the pre-pandemic Breakfasts with Santa:

 A new location (thanks to Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish)
 Families must register and plan their visit for their selected timeslot
 Masks will be required indoors
 Food will not be served
 Guests are asked to keep distanced while queuing for their Visit with Santa
 Guests will take their own photos of their children with Santa
 Photos with Santa will be staged to keep children and Santa at a safe distance from each other (Santa will not hold children)

Despite the modifications for the pandemic, the Kiwanis Club of Los Alamos is looking forward to giving the children of the community this chance to review wish lists with Santa and their parents the opportunity to preserve the moment with pictures.
