‘Spooky Action At A Distance’ Opening Reception Is Oct. 28 At Step Up Gallery


Astonishing, creepy, fluky, spooky, bizarre, curious, eerie, ghostly, scary, uncanny, mysterious, odd, strange, peculiar, dreamlike, unexpected, supernatural and weird are just some of the adjectives used to describe the artwork on display in Spooky Action at a Distance. The show, featuring juried art from local, regional and out-of-state artists, opens Thursday, Oct. 28 with a “safe” reception from 5:30 to 7 p.m. in Step Up Gallery, top floor of Mesa Public Library, 2400 Central Ave, Los Alamos. The show runs until Nov. 18. Masking and social distancing are required.

The exhibit includes oil and acrylic paintings, drawings, photographs, fiber art, with mixed media and ceramic sculpture, and even two painted skateboards. Current hours for the gallery are: Monday – Thursday 10 a.m. – 8 p.m., Friday 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Closed Sundays.
