Anna Niamh Short, 22, of White Rock pleaded no contest to charges of careless driving and failure to yield Friday in Los Alamos Magistrate in connection with a traffic case that involved the tragic death of Reva Herron of White Rock.

Magistrate Court Judge Pat Casados found Short guilty of the two charges and imposed deferred sentences for both that allow for dismissal of both charges Jan. 14, 2022 if Short receives no further citations. Short was placed on unsupervised probation for 90 days for each charge with the terms to run concurrently and is required to complete 25 hours of community service at the New Mexico Crisis Center by Dec. 29.
