For those in need, heart or lung transplants offer new life. Few people can survive hours without breathing or a pulse, though, so the more successful surgical teams take efforts to keep patients alive throughout the procedure.
Tucked away in some forgotten corner of our little town are a handful of businesses that are slowly being squeezed. The seemingly endless road construction on 502 will, no doubt, be a long-term gain for our town — but can we afford the cost? Small businesses often can’t hold their breath for weeks or months.
The 15 extra minutes it takes us to drive to the Co+op or Petree are an annoyance… but if I think of it as an investment in our community, the annoyance magically disappears. I urge you to take time this week – today, perhaps – to keep our community’s pulse going.
