LARSO Announces Senior Center Events For Remainder Of September

September is National Senior Center month, and while the month may be half over, our local centers have a lot of great things ahead.

Friday, Sept. 17: The White Rock Senior Center will host a car show, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.. There is no fee and those in attendance, will get to vote for the People’s Choice Award.

Monday, Sept. 20: At 4:30 p.m. join the Coopers as they take us on a trip to “meet” to the people of Nepal and enjoy the on-line presentation from the Annapurna Range, high mountain landscapes, and the architecture of this primarily Hindu and secondarily Buddhist country. Tuesday, Sept. 21: Our friend Tina will return to trim toenails at the Betty Ehart Senior Center. The cost is $25 and those interested can schedule an appointment by calling (505) 662-8920. White Rock Senior Center will host the same event on Tuesday, Sept. 28. Call (505) 672-2034 to schedule an appointment.

Nambe Drugs, our community partner will host two drive-by flu shot events for the senior centers. One will be at the Betty Ehart Senior Center from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 28 and the other will be at the White Rock Senior Center from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 30. There is no need to register for these events but participants are asked to bring their identification and insurance card.
