Kiwanis Club of Los Alamos
Wow! The fantastic music festival and fireworks at Overlook Park on Labor Day weekend was glorious. The Kiwanis Club of Los Alamos thanks everyone for joining us in the celebration. It seems like forever ago that we filled the park and could bask in the awesome splendor of the fireworks show. This year’s show was made especially memorable with Katy P’s rendition of the Fireworks song and powerful encore performance.
While the dedication of the fireworks team in Kiwanis might be obvious, much of the community is behind the event long before the first song, bouncy house, or brisket sandwich. This year we partnered with Sancre Productions. They didn’t let us down with great bands and music that filled the park. The list of sponsors and donors without whose financial assistance this event would not have been possible is too long to be repeated here. Even so, We specifically thank Enterprise Bank and Trust as the main event presenter and Franks Supply for the powerful generator that makes the bouncy houses run.
Kudos are also given to the many Los Alamos public servants who participated in the special evening. The Los Alamos Fire Department’s big flag touched our hearts as we entered the park and the transit team helped us all move around safely. The parks team kept the field clean and Los Alamos Police Department kept us safe.
Thank you Kiwanians for your time and energy. You continually demonstrate dedication to the people of Los Alamos and the community of Northern New Mexico. You make this event possible. The biggest thanks of all goes to you – the community. You make this a wonderful place to live. You come together – join together – to make living here a treasure of the best America has to offer.
With predictions of increasing drought in our future, it’s a little unclear if we’ll return on the 4th of July. That said, we’ll do a big fireworks show at Overlook again. You can count on it!
