Epiphany Dermatology Accepting Patients At New Practice In Los Alamos

The Los Alamos community has been hoping for a long-time to have another dermatologist provide services locally and Epiphany Dermatology’s Dr. Ronald Rovner, is now filling part of that need. The practice is accepting new patients with appointments available on Mondays even during September.

Epiphany Dermatology is located in the Gateway Medical Center at 118 Central Park Square.

Dr, Rovner is a board-certified dermatologist who has been practicing medical, surgical and cosmetic dermatology for more than 30 years. He moved to New Mexico thee years ago. He completed medical school at Pennsylvania State University, did his pediatric internship at Maine Medical Center in Portland, Maine and his pathology residency at Worcester Memorial Hospital in Worcester, Maine, before doing his dermatology residency at Penn State’s Milton S. Hershey Medical Center In Hershey, Penn.

A Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and active member of the New England and Maine Dermatologic Societies, Dr. Rovner has also facilitated a host of publications in major dermatology journals.

In his spare time, Dr. Rovner is an artist and pianist with artwork at several Santa Fe galleries. He is excited about working in the Los Alamos community.

“There’s a great demand here for dermatology services and of course the commute from Tesuque is gorgeous,” he said.

Dr. Rovner is encouraging the community to visit the Sun Bus which will be in Los Alamos outside Epiphany Dermatology from 8:45 a.m. to 12 p.m. Monday, Sept. 13. Walk-in appointments are available during screening times on a first come, first serve basis.

The Sun Bus is a mobile classroom and clinic that travels to dozens of communities between May and November providing sun safety education, free EltaMD sunscreen, skin cancer awareness, and free skin checks provided by dermatologists such as Dr. Rovner. It is sponsored by the Colorado Melanoma Foundation in partnership with Epiphany Dermatology.
