County’s Customer Care Center At The Municipal Building Closed Thursday Afternoon

COUNTY NEWS RELEASE

Los Alamos County’s Customer Care Center, operated by the Department of Public Utilities, will close for the afternoon of Thursday, Sept. 2, specifically from noon to 5 p.m.  Customer Care representatives will use this time to relocate back to their newly remodeled Customer Care Center located in Suite 130 in the Municipal Building, 1000 Central Avenue.

For the past two months the Customer Care representatives have been working out of Suite 110, the Boards and Commissions room, as extensive remodeling took place in their permanent home in Suite 130. Acting Deputy Utilities Manager Heather Garcia stated that the new office layout  facilitates better privacy for individuals conducting business with the county. Thanking the community for their understanding regarding Thursday’s closure, she added, “We will be ready to greet individuals in our new digs first thing Friday morning.”

More than a call center, the Customer Care Center representatives assist county citizens to set up utilities’ accounts, pay utility bills and property taxes, request banners for the Diamond Drive overhead passes, purchase cemetery lots and more. Hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 1000 Central Ave., Suite 130.  As of August 16, facemasks are required for all individuals entering a county-owned facility.  The Customer Care Center is also available via phone or email at 505.662.8333 or CustomerCare@lacnm.us.
