LAPS FOUNDATION NEWS
The Los Alamos Public Schools Foundation announces Kari Mason and Nalani Varela as the graduating seniors selected for the Sophia Feldman Memorial Scholarship.
This scholarship is awarded in memory of Sophia Feldman, a Los Alamos High School student who passed away in September 2019. Sophia had many interests, including dance, music, and speech/debate, but one of her greatest passions was helping and supporting people. In her honor, this scholarship is awarded to two students for their exemplary academic and personal conduct combined with mentoring and support of younger students, including Sophia herself.
Kari Mason will attend Brigham Young University and major in visual arts. Nalani Varela will attend New Mexico State University and major in psychology and business marketing.
The Sophia Feldman Memorial Scholarship is administered by the Los Alamos Public Schools Foundation, an independent organization that supports, challenges, and invests in a successful future for all Los Alamos public school students. Learn more at www.lapsfoundation.com.
