Los Alamos High School Graduating Senior Anthony Lestone To Major In Physics at Texas A&M

Los Alamos High School graduating senior Anthony Lestone will major in Physics at Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas. During high school. Lestone qualified for the International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF) in both 2020 and 2021, placing 2nd place in Physics and Astronomy in 2021;. He also competed in the US National Chemistry Olympiad. He is a National Math Honors Society member. Outside school, Lestone is a guitarist and vocalist for the Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish Youth Band. He enjoys baking with friends, computer programming, gaming, digital art, and playing guitar. Anthony wants to thank Phillip Ionkov for inviting him to partner on a science fair project and for putting up with his shenanigans for the two years they worked together. He also wants to thank Mrs. Ombelli for imbuing him with a love for chemistry and Mrs. Renner for being an awesome physics teacher and science bowl coach. Anthony is the last of the Lestone children to graduate from LAPS. His parents, John and Joanne Lestone, wish to thank all the individuals who have educated and mentored their children in school, the sciences and arts, faith, sports and service throughout the years.
