BRADBURY SCIENCE MUSEUM NEWS
Dive into the past with Alan Carr, Los Alamos National Laboratory’s senior historian, and take a fascinating look at the Rover Program, which ran from 1955 to 1973 with the goal of building a reactor engine capable of carrying astronauts far beyond the moon. The Rover Program ended with the cancellation of the proposed mission to Mars, but not before its scientists developed Phoebus-2A, the most powerful individual reactor ever built.
Learn more about this little-known program and its inventions at “Night with a Nerd with Alan Carr: Beyond the Moon,” via Zoom from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., Thursday, Mar. 11.
Cost: This event is free for Bradbury Science Museum Association (BSMA) members and $10 for nonmembers.
