Los Alamos Halloweekend events are already underway. Below is the schedule of activities for just this Thursday, Oct. 28:
ALL DAY – Downtown “Monster” Hunt
Find the 10 monsters hiding in the windows of the MainStreet District along Central Ave. Snap selfies with them and post online using the hashtag #MonstersOnMainStLA or submit the photos to mainstreet@losalamos.org for a chance to win a “monster” bags of treats (home delivery or pickup available for the winners)!
Families will also have an opportunity to win a free Sonic blast by solving a Mystery Phrase, courtesy of Freedom Church Los Alamos. Text the phase during the days of the Monster Hunt event to win. **One Sonic blast per family; Phrase must be submitted Oct. 29-31. Winning form (Sonic info) may be submitted 24 hours after the event ends. Gift cards will be sent to winning recipients with 24-48 hours of submission.
1:00 – 7:00 p.m. – Pumpkin Patch
Join the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church (3700 Canyon Road, Los Alamos) for a pumpkin patch, maze – selfie spot and more. This event begins on Oct. 16 and runs through Oct. 31. Weekday hours are 1-7 p.m. and Weekends 10 a.m. – 7 p.m. A Bake Sale will also take place (on Oct. 25 only). Appointments are recommended and scheduling is now available online HERE. 7 a.m.-12:30 p.m. – Halloween Farmers’ Market, Ashley Pond Park
Come out to the last outdoor Farmers’ Market of the season! We’ll have some Halloween goodies to hand out (while supplies last) and some pre-recorded spooky ambiance music from local musicians! If you register for the Monster Paint Party, held Thursday, Oct. 29 at 6 p.m. and Saturday, Oct. 31 at 1 p.m., you may also pick up the kits at this Market. Masks are required.
6 p.m. – Monster Paint Party, virtual (with in-person kit pickup)
Plan a Ghoulish Family Paint Night at home this Halloween. Los Alamos Canvas Events has monster painting kits to paint. The spooky creatures were created for all ages and all skill levels. Join a virtual painting event or paint them on your own. Limited supply, so order early.

6 p.m. Night of Fright
The Los Alamos County Library will post a recorded-by-staff spooky story for elementary-aged kids. Stories will be available via YouTube (LA Youth Services) and on other social media. This is an ongoing nightly “Five Nights of Fright” event running Oct. 26-30.
6-8 p.m. Virtual Pumpkin Carving Party
Join the Los Alamos Arts Council in a fun virtual community event. Join for a short time, or the full 2 hours!
