LAPS NEWS
There are signs (literally) that Los Alamos is celebrating the Los Alamos High School Class of 2020. The recognition started with the distribution of yard signs to the home of each senior at the beginning of May, and any other events and activities have been ongoing.
Here is what is happening this week:
Community Graduation Cards
Community members are encouraged to send Community Graduation Cards to a Topper
Senior they know. Using this link (https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScaGTCUpEmznHKx-

Messages will be previewed by LAHS Admin and then emailed directly with those individual Seniors and their families the week of May 25. The deadline to submit a message is Friday, May 22.
Staff Advice for the Class of 2020
Teachers, administrators and staff from around the district shared advice and a picture of themselves from their time in high school. Go to https://sites.google.com/laschools.net/celebrate-our-seniors/videos to see the video featuring more than 100 photos and words of wisdom.
Flag a Topper
All Toppers were recognized as well as staff greeted students during the end-of-school checkout this week. LAHS students were able to pick up items left in lockers when school closed in mid-March, drop off books and band instruments, and pay any remaining fees, without leaving the safety of their cars. At the end of the Drive-Thru Check Out, students received a yellow, green, or white flag to “Flag a Topper.” Students were asked to write encouraging messages to a classmate, staff member, or graduating senior on the flag and place it in the yard of the recipient.
The idea of “Flag a Topper” came from Freshman Nyla Lee, a member of the Student Leadership class. If Toppers would like more flags to share more kindness, extras will be available next week after the Drive-Thru Check Out make up on Tuesday, May 26 from 1 pm – 3 pm.
Seniors are encouraged to share their experiences and photos on social media at Class of 2020
