LAPS NEWS

Los Alamos Public Schools will begin both New and Returning Student Registration for the 2020-2021 school year on Monday, May 4. This year, LAPS will use SchoolMint, a new, more streamlined and efficient online student registration platform, for this process. In addition, all online forms are now available in both English and Spanish.

For returning students, parents will receive an email from SchoolMint with instructions on how to set their password so that they may access the account that SchoolMint has created for them. Complete the returning student registration form for each child in your account.  It is important to note that your first SchoolMint email may be directed to your Spam folder. If you did not receive an email from SchoolMint on May 4, please go to your Spam folder, and mark the SchoolMint email as “not spam.” You will then receive all future SchoolMint emails in your inbox.

How do you know if your child is a returning student? Any student who is currently attending any LAPS school will be a returning student for the 2020-2021 school year. For example, if your child is a 6th grade student who will be enrolling at Los Alamos Middle School next year, they are considered a returning student, even though they are moving from an elementary school to the middle school. Or if your student was an 8th grader at LAMS and will be attending Topper Freshman Academy in the fall, they are also considered a returning student.

The new student application is for students new to the Los Alamos Public Schools district who reside in Los Alamos County. New students who reside outside of Los Alamos County must complete the Open Enrollment application.

To enroll a new student, please go to https://laps.schoolmint.net/ to complete the New Student Application Form. You may also go to https://laschools.net/ and select the Registration link to enroll your student.

Parents are encouraged to complete the registration process as soon as possible.

Please contact Sandra Osborn at s.osborn@laschools.net or (505) 663-2228 if you have any questions.
